So, last day of clinic this week

So, last day of clinic this week -- Friday is reserved for various other activities.  Looks like we will be going with a group to the nearby national park for a guided hike and, hopefully, interesting wildlife.  I felt useful this morning with some common family medicine problems such as herpes zoster, severe ext. hemorrhoids, threatened miscarriage.  As of now , the afternoon looks pretty quiet -- only a few new patients.

We are helping asses the condition of their fleet of bikes and need to make a run this afternoon to see about getting tires and tubes locally.  There are several bikes that are pretty new and in good shape, but the rest are really not worth fixing -- too much rust and many would need new shifting and brake cables  plus new derailliers .  We will see if we an help with some plans for regular maintainance and chain lubrication.  And....somehow, they need to keep them out-of-the rain when not riding them.

I don't know how well we have described the sounds around here:  The frequent crowing of the roosters, the ever-present motor bikes buzzing by, the frequent thunder (and last night, heavy rain pounding the metal roof), the cats yowling and fighting either under the house or right outside, of course the call to worship (seemed to be missing this morning with the rain).  I have yet to resort to earplugs, but Lauri uses them nightly.

At present, there is a battle of wills occurring with a little girl with an earlobe abcess from newly pierced ears -- there at currently three of the young docs trying to get it drained and lots of noise.

Lauri, I hear, has sent along a few pictures and I will hopefully have a few  more by tomorrow.  Oh, almost forgot, our bedroom last night had several large cicada's buzzing our heads -- they are darn near the size of small birds.  Fortunately, they seemed to leave us along after we turned the light off.
